Emily Deng

Emily Deng is an Associate Director based in SSQ Shanghai office, and the Co-head of China In-house Legal Search. 

Emily specialises in placing senior legal/compliance/IP professionals into corporate platforms with a strong industry diversity, including pharmaceutical, FMCG, TMT, industrial automation, AI, financial institutions (PE, VC, Asset management, IBD) and sports and entertainment. 

Emily has been working in recruitment for 10 years, helping clients fulfill critical positions including Group General Counsel, Asia Chief Compliance Officer, Asia Head of IP and Head of Litigation. She believes an insightful understanding of industry knowledge and business strategy is essential to bring value to clients and achieve the best talent match.  

Prior to joining SSQ in 2020, Emily worked at one of the largest global search firms in China. 

She studied Law and Journalism at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, before getting her MSc in International Business and Marketing from the University of Newcastle in the UK.
