Last month witnessed several leading US law firms making a push to grow in Hong Kong. Sullivan & Cromwell, Sidley Austin and White & Case all hired major laterals in mainstream disputes and capital markets practice areas, while Davis Polk made a rare partner promotion. Additionally, PRC law firms’ interest in the city is also continuing with two major Beijing firms – Anli and Shihui – opening in the city jurisdiction and setting up local associations.
